Dear Friends and Family,

When we woke up this morning, Jon and I started talking about what scriptures we might think about as sort of a theme for our travels this summer. A few came to mind but we didn’t come up with anything that really stuck. The message at church this morning was about God providing and the scripture was taken from I Kings 17 where we read about God’s daily provision for Elijah and then for the widow and her son as well. It was just what we needed to hear as we start out on this somewhat overwhelming safari. It was a good reminder to take it just one day at a time and to trust God for every need. Another verse that we looked at was II Corinthians 9:8 which says, “And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.” It is our desire that as we visit with so many this summer, we will be a blessing as we know we will be blessed. And to know that our source is our Mighty God! God has shown Himself faithful in so many ways in leading up to this trip. For example, it was a long and convoluted process, but our car passed inspection just this last week. It has been an emotional couple of weeks but the Lord has strengthened us for each day; we feel that we finished up well in Hershey with relationships at church, school, work and in our community. Thank you for your prayers and please continue to pray for us. Remember, every time you see a blue minivan…!
