Dear Everyone,
Thanks so much for all your prayers and notes of
encouragement! Melissa’s surgery on her left knee went very well. They reconstructed her ACL, but also found a torn meniscus (cartilage) and some wear and tear (like arthritis) on the joint surface. She spent last night in the hospital on a morphine drip, but this morning did a good lap up and down the hall on crutches with her full length leg brace on. She was discharged from the hospital at lunch time today, and is now back here at RVA staying with friends.
She has to wear the knee brace and use crutches for the next 10 days, but she’ll see a physical therapist in a couple days here on campus who has graciously agreed to help her with her therapy over the next couple weeks.
Her pain is not too bad, though the morphine is still getting out of her system. Pray for her stomach to settle, she had some nausea and vomiting earlier. She’s able to put some weight on the left leg, so that’s going well.
Thanks for praying!
Jon for all of us
