Homeschool Week went great

on

Thank you so much for praying for us this last week.  We had a very good week at the RVA homeschool week, networking with other parents and teachers, seeing friends, and attending seminars geared towards helping homeschool parents.  During the week we got to stay with the Chedesters, who are dorm parents for 10th grade boys (and much more!).  It was great catching up with them!  We enjoyed celebrating Mother’s Day (USA) with Melissa’s mom on Sunday.

It was strange walking around Kijabe with jeans, fleeces, raincoats and umbrellas.  It was chilly and rainy nearly every day there!

The boys had fun attending classes with other RVA students, both did well with their SAT and Kaufmann tests, with areas of strength and areas that need a little work.  Josh spent two nights on his own during the week in the 4th grade dorm, and loved it.  He got ‘high marks’ on the evaluation the dorm parents filled out.

Also, praise the Lord, our Kenya multi-entry visas were approved and are stamped in to our passports!  Sometimes the ‘red tape’ items in Africa seem to go smoothly…..and other times, less than smooth (ie. six months before approval, etc.).  Thank you for praying.  We have a dedicated staff at the Eastern Region Office who followed everything up in Nairobi and handed us the passports at the end of the week.

We’re in Arusha right now, and will be heading back home to Magambua tomorrow.

Thank you for continuing to pray for the Eye Surgery clinic and Mediquest team next week.

Blessings in Christ,

Jon for all of us
